Community Philanthropy

Making a Difference

Many people think of their community simply as the place where they live, work and play. We believe our community is also where we raise our families. For each and every one of us, our community is our livelihood. For that reason, we believe in giving back every day and in many different ways.

Serving our community is more than a commitment. It's our culture.

Making a community stronger begins with clearly understanding its needs. That's why we have developed meaningful relationships with more than 800 nonprofit partners in the eight states we serve. Additionally, we work closely with community and business leaders, elected officials and other local partners. With these relationships, we are able to identify, understand and address the unique challenges each of our communities face.

With tangible needs identified, we strategically invest in programs that enhance both the quality of life and economic well-being of our communities. We allocate resources - both financial and in-kind - based on the priority needs of our many communities.

Financial Contributions

Our goal with financial contributions is to deliver lasting impact to our communities. We aim to build long-term relationships with the nonprofit partners we serve to assure maximum benefit to the community.

We have established the BOKF Foundation, a charitable entity guided by a board of directors.

Similar to our community service and volunteering, we focus our financial giving in the following areas:
  • Health and Human Services

  • Education

  • United Way

  • Economic Development

  • Arts and Culture

  • Community Development

  • In-Kind Contributions

One of the most simple and effective ways we help our community comes from hidden treasures within our company. We donate computers to elementary schools. We give office furniture to halfway houses. We open our branch network to causes such as our annual literacy campaign, which collected nearly 29,000 books for children in 2007. We open special contribution accounts to allow citizens to make donations to friends and neighbors in need. From our equipment to our infrastructure, we find the community often values our resources immeasurably.

    Community Service

Sometimes the best gift we can give is our time and our talent. By lending our expertise, we empower our community partners to develop meaningful business strategies, effective fund raising initiatives, sound financial planning and more. The skills of our employees are as diverse as they are remarkable and there is no limit to the results we can deliver to our community.

Collectively, our teams provide the following services:
  • Financial Education

  • Tax Preparation

  • Board Service

  • Committee Involvement

  • Adopt-An-Agency

  • In 2007, BOK Financial employees contributed more than 46,500 reported hours of community service for more than 800 organizations.
